| This
tournament is hosted by the Acol Club on Thursday evenings
from
8:15pm (UK time) until about
9.30pm. |
| The tournament is a Swiss Pairs with IMPs scoring. |
| Each tournament is 12 boards long, with 2 boards each round (6 rounds) with a clocked movement. |
| All winners will have their names put up on the website in our Hall of Fame for all to see. |
| Everyone receives
points for each tournament which will go towards a quarterly
league depending on their position: • 1st place will get a number of points equal to the number of pairs who enter; • 2nd place will get one less than 1st place; • 3rd place will get one less than 2nd (and this will carry on all the way down the field until ...); • Last place will get one point. Each member of a pair gets the same number of points. |
| Each quarter consists of 13 weeks and there will be a tournament in at least 8 of those weeks - to allow for off-days. If there are tournaments held on more than the 8 weeks then the additional weeks will count. Players who have missed one or more tournaments can thus reach the expected 8 matches, other players will have only their best 8 results count towards the league. |
