Acol at BBO - Tournaments

This tournament is hosted by the Acol Club on Thursday evenings from 8:15pm (UK time) until about 9.30pm.

The tournament is a Swiss Pairs with IMPs scoring.

Each tournament is 12 boards long, with 2 boards each round (6 rounds) with a clocked movement.

All winners will have their names put up on the website in our Hall of Fame for all to see.

Everyone receives points for each tournament which will go towards a quarterly league depending on their position:
• 1st place will get a number of points equal to the number of pairs who enter;
• 2nd place will get one less than 1st place;
• 3rd place will get one less than 2nd (and this will carry on all the way down the field until ...);
• Last place will get one point.
Each member of a pair gets the same number of points.

Each quarter consists of 13 weeks and there will be a tournament in at least 8 of those weeks - to allow for off-days. If there are tournaments held on more than the 8 weeks then the additional weeks will count. Players who have missed one or more tournaments can thus reach the expected 8 matches, other players will have only their best 8 results count towards the league.
